The Nouvelle École de Paris is not a school in the strict sense, but an umbrella term for the development of abstract painting in Paris between 1945 and 1960. Accordingly, the Nouvelle École de Paris unites different currents of abstract painting such as Informel, Tachism and Lyrical Abstraction.
