Neo-Dada / Neo-Dadaism
Neo-Dada is a controversial term applied to various styles, trends, and works perceived as reviving the methods or spirit of Dada. The art movement known as Neo-Dadaism developed during the 1950s as a counter-movement to the Abstract Expressionist movements with the goal of erasing the boundaries between art and life. The unifying element of Neo-Dada art is the re-examination of Dada's irony, the use of found objects, and banal activities as instruments of social criticism.
