The American Keith Haring was born on May 4 in Reading, Pennsylvania. After high school, he studied at the Icy School of Professional Art in Pittsburgh from 1976, but broke off this training as a commercial artist after two semesters. Keith Haring continued to study art and in 1978 a solo exhibition of his works was held in Pittsburgh at the Arts and Crafts Center. In the same year, Keith Haring moved to New York and enrolled at the School of Visual Arts.
