A Soviet Porcelain Figure: An Afghan Woman Removing Her Veil Lomonosov State Porcelain Factory, Leningrad, after 1928 8-1/2 x 5-1/4 x 3 inches (21.6 x 13.3 x 7.6 cm) Though other examples of this model have come to auction, none have such exuberant and detailed painting as the offered lot. In her study of the archives of the Lomonosov State Porcelain factory, E. Sametskaya notes that during her time as a student at VKhUTEIN, Tripolskaya designed a group of three near Eastern figures.
