Lot Details
Katsushika Taito II (Japanese, active 1810-1850) Finches and Cherry Blossoms (Sakura ni kimpara), circa 1830 Woodblock print 13-1/2 x 3-1/8 inches (34.3 x 7.9 cm) (sheet, ko-tanzaku) Signed: Katsushika Taito; with the artist's red ink seal Property from the Nelkin Collection HID12401132022 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
A quaint print that presents well. The condition of the work is consistent with its age. Mild toning primarily evident verso; inked colors still appear vibrant. Mild accretion primarily evident verso. Mild handling dents with some light creasing; a heavier crease upper left corner. A few minor marks of foxing primarily evident verso with a slightly noticeable area of staining along extreme lower edge recto. Unframed. No tears or losses observed.
