KLEIN, YVES
1928 Nice - 1962 Paris
Title: Triptyque de Krefeld.
Subtitle: 3 parts.
Date: 1961.
Technique: 2 colour silkscreens on thin card and one card with gold foil and leaf gold. With exhibition catalogue "Yves Klein - Monochrome und Feuer".
Depiction Size: Each: 32 x 24cm.
Frame: Framed (42,5 x 102,5cm).
Condition:
Sheets framed minimally askew. Minimally wavy due to the manufacturing progress. Minimally raised upper right corner of the blue card. Minimal bumpings and a minimal crease (due to the manufacturing process?) on the golden card. Minimally raised corners of the pink card. Leaf gold is not adhering to the card, however, some flakes are loose in the frame (inherent to the work). Mounted on verso. Otherwise in good condition.
The triptych was created by the artist on the occasion of his first German solo exhibition at Museum Lange, Krefeld, from 14th January to 26th February 1961 and is enclosed in the exhibition catalogue. Each gold-coloured card in the edition was covered with gold leaf by Yves Klein himself, who designed each one differently. Each of these works is therefore unique.
