Edwin F. Townsend (American, 1877-1948) Marguerite Agniel, from "Body Sculpture" (12 works) , circa 1930 Gelatin silver prints 10 x 8 inches (25.4 x 20.3 cm) (images/sheets) Each inscribed in pencil. Some inscribed more extensively than others. This lot is comprised of twelve works that were used in the production of the book Body Sculpture, by Marguerite Agniel, and show unique hand retouching for the publication process. Body Sculpture was published by E.H. & A.C. Friedrichs Co., New York, in 1933. This lot is accompanied by a copy of the aforementioned book above. Overall fair condition. Scattered loses to some of the sheets edges. Silver mirroring to a few sheets with darker backgrounds. Please note the sheets with the light backgrounds are collaged. The images of the models are cut from other sheets and affixed to a new mount. Scattered crazing and some creasing to the sheets. Not framed.
