Bronze with black-green patina. Base with the artist's signature and thumbprint, numbered and with the foundry stamp. One of 7 copies. 28.5 x 30.5 x 19 cm.
Cast by Fonderia Luigi Tommasi, Pietrasanta (with teh stamp).
- Fascinating insight into the artist's creative process. - Drawings on the motif “Variation on the Theme of the Last Embrace (Salvataggio)” can be found in the Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao. - In 1972, Lipchitz wrote about his work in “My Life in Sculpture”, New York, Viking Press, 1972. -Sculptures and drawings can be found in major collections such as the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich, the Centre Pompidou, Paris, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, and the Tate Gallery, London.

In good condition with vibrant patina. There are a few small scratches caused by the manufacturing process, and there is a small spot of rubbing on the base. Overall with slight traces of corrosion.
