- An appealing juxtaposition of two-dimensional painting and spontaneous, momentary gestures. - One of the few preserved early works by the artist, in which her turn towards New Objectivity becomes evident. - A rare depiction of a child in German modernist painting. - Similar to Otto Dix, Erna Dinklage depicts her son's playful and independent world without any embellishment. - Works by the artist are in possession of renowned museums, including the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus, Munich, and the Pinakothek der Moderne.
