• An impressive observation of the elements, their colors captured with great sensitivity.
• Max Liebermann was a founding member and president of the Berlin Secession.
• His work helped shape the transition of art from the 19th century to the Modernism of the Wilhelmine era and the Weimar Republic.
Accompanied by a written confirmation of authenticity from Prof. Dr. Matthias Eberle, Max Liebermann Archive, Berlin, dated November 13, 2012 (copy). The painting is included in the supplement to the catalogue raisonné under the number 1899/11a.
