Oil and gouache on cardboard. Signed "MARKUS" in the lower left. Monogrammed and dated on the reverse. 61 x 43.3 cm. . [KT].
- Lüpertz is one of the most important German representatives of New Figuration. - The artist's early works from the 1970s and 1980s are his most sought-after paintings on the international auction market. - Works by the artist are on display in the most important international collections, including the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Tate Gallery, London, and the Centre Pompidou, Paris.
The authenticity of the present work was confirmed orally by the Markus Lüpertz Studio. We are grateful for the kind support in cataloging this lot.

In good condition. With a vertical crack (approx. 10 cm) on the left edge of the picture, corners and edges minimally scuffed. Small isolated color losses in the upper right. For more information on the condition, please see the enlarged image / illustration on the back.
