Gouache over pencil. Signed and dated in the image's lower right. Titled bottom center. On cardboard. 49 x 33.5 cm. , size of sheet.

- From his last year at the Bauhaus before its closure in 1933. - Series of works dealing with transition and the connection between Europe and America - conceived in Dessau and completed at Black Mountain College. - His first consistently serial work group. - The treble clef as an isomorphic figure, in which the clearly delineated areas of color are interwoven to create their own effect. - Family-owned ever since it was created and offered on the international auction market for the first time.
The work is registered as as "JAAF 1932.2.8" in the archive of the Anni and Josef Albers Foundation, Connecticut, and will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné.

In good condition. Minimally browned and with a small brown spot in the left margin. Somewhat rubbed, more noticeable in black.
