This fascinating group of ephemera includes letters written to Beard by Danish writer Thomas Dinesen, Karen Blixen's brother, his son Tore Dinesen and Clara Svendsen, friend and biographer of Karen Blixen during two visits Beard made to Denmark in 1967 and 1974. The eclectic selection also features a copy of a letter from Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis to Beard regarding her introduction to his 1970 book "Longing for Darkness", and a brief, halting response from Sanfe Farah Adan, who is living in Nairobi, to Beard's inquiry on "Abdullah's" whereabouts.
