Mixed media . Soap suds and pigments on canvas. Signed on the folded canvas, as well as twice titled and inscribed with the dimensions. 160 x 230 cm. . [AW].
- Monumental work from the series of soap bubble paintings, works that the “master of experimentation” sometimes worked on over several years. - The amorphous shapes shimmer in wonderful and bright colors. - In the 1980s, Dokoupil co-founded the “Junge Wilde” (Young Wild Ones), who revolutionized painting. - His works are part of renowned international collections, such as the Center Pompidou, Paris, the Museo Reina Sofía, Madrid, and the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Seoul.
Private collection, USA (acquired from the artist in 2017)
In good condition. Craquelure in the dark blue areas. Isolated tiny white adhesions, predominantly in the left area of the image. The lower corners of the image minimally rubbed. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the help of a UV light source and to the best of our knowledge and belief.
