As one of his most detailed and fully realized studies, it is a coveted nude from his Esquire period. In February 1969, Vargas revisited this pose and concept for a Playboy interior, which was published with the caption, "I asked my hairdresser to make me look like Twiggy, but he put the part on the wrong side."
