One of the unique aspects of Prem is its incorporation of the Devanagari script, used to write Hindi, which gives the sculpture an entirely new visual identity. Indiana retains the clean, bold aesthetic of his LOVE sculptures, but the form and flow of the Devanagari letters lends the piece a distinct sense of rhythm and grace that differs from the angular lines of his English LOVE. The fluidity of the script contrasts with the block-like structure of his original design, giving Prem a softer, more organic appearance while preserving the geometric integrity that is characteristic of Indiana's work. This transformation of form offers viewers a fresh visual experience while preserving the instantly recognizable theme of love.
