Condition
Bunny Yeager's B & J 8x10 View Camera Burke & James Inc., Chicago, circa 1947 15-1/2 x 13 x 21 inches (39.4 x 33.0 x 53.3 cm) With Kodak Commercial Ektar 12 in. f/6.3 lens in Ilex No.4 Acme Synchro shutter, gray painted wood body with red leatherette bellows and chrome fittings. With 4 x 5 inch reducing back. There is no piece of equipment more associated with Bunny Yeager than her Burke & James 8x10 camera. She favored the piece for her Playboy centerfold shoots (if this camera could talk!), and featured it in the self-portrait on the cover of her important 1963 book How I Photograph Myself. The camera is on display in a number of photographs in this sale, and multiple negatives and contact prints featuring her and the camera accompany this lot. This camera was her pride & joy, and it is an honor to be able to offer it here. HID12401132022 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
Condition reflects age and use. Lens shutter not working.
