Groupe de Recherche d'Art Visuel (GRAV)

The artists' association Groupe de Recherche d'Art Visuel, GRAV for short, dedicated itself to art focused on visual perception after its foundation in Paris in 1960. The members of the group had a decisive influence on the development of Op Art and kinetic art in France. They were primarily concerned with light, mechanical movement and new technologies and tried to involve the viewer more strongly in the artistic ambience.
