De Stijl

The Dutch artists' group De Stijl, founded in 1917 and related to the Bauhaus and Constructivism, represented a strictly geometric variety of non-representational painting. The elementary simplicity and the restriction to the primary colours red, yellow, blue as well as black, grey and white, were used in painting, architecture and design.
