Nouveaux Plasticiens

Founded in Montréal in 1959, the artist group Nouveaux Plasticiens followed Les Plasticiens as a leading force of the avant-garde and dominated the city's art scene in the 1960s. The four painters created large, completely abstract canvases that show stylistic parallels to Hard-Edge and to Op-Art.
