Poetism is an artistic movement that emerged in the 1920s around the Devětsil group of artists and was limited to Czechoslovakia. It was primarily a literary movement, but also found expression in the visual arts and was primarily understood as a lifestyle. The basic ideas of poetism focused on a thoroughly optimistic view of the world, which understood life as a poem.
