Tachism

Characteristic of tachisme is the rejection of composition. It is a completely form-free direction of abstract painting that emerges within the framework of a completely spontaneous, intuitive painting process. The automatic emergence of the pictures from spots and splashes of paint is the basis of the style term, which is derived from the French word for spot ("tache").
