New Objectivity / Verism

The New Objectivity art movement that emerged in Germany after the First World War is based on the consistent rejection of the artistic ideals propagated by Expressionism, Cubism or Futurism and strives to return to a realistic reflection of the visible world. Social, political and economic grievances and the moral decay of the post-war period became motifs of artistic creation in Verism.
