Suprematism

The art movement of the 1910s and 1920s in Russia, started by Kazimir Malevich, founded a completely new direction of non-objective painting based on completely geometric abstraction. According to his completely new conception of art, the subject should stand on its own, not be subject to any predetermined iconography and not depict an object of reality. While the artist offers a work of art, one approaches the notion that the recipient himself should evoke a reaction.
