Ansel Adams

February 20, 1902 - April 22, 1984
In the early days of artistic black-and-white photography, the U.S. photographer Ansel Adams made a significant contribution to the recognition of photography as an independent art form through his work and personality and became one of the most important landscape and nature photographers. At the same time, his photographs, especially of Yosemite National Park, create a new awareness of the beauty and protection of wilderness areas in the USA.
