The American artist and poet Jim Dine was born on June 16, 1935 in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1953 he began his art studies at the University of Cincinnati, transferred to the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and graduated in 1958 from Ohio State University (Columbus) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. In 1959 Jim Dine moved to New York and soon became one of the most important protagonists of the bubbling New York art scene of the time.
