The American Man Ray, born on August 27, 1890 in Philadelphia as Emmanuel Radnitzky, became famous as a painter, photographer, object artist and film director of Dadaism and Surrealism. His work includes about 13,000 photographs, 700 paintings, as well as 200 objects. He belongs to the circle of the Parisian avant-garde in the first half of the 20th century and with his works, created in the manifold creative and multifaceted interaction with Marcel Duchamps, Francis Picabia, André Breton, Tristan Tzara, Max Ernst and others, shapes the perception of this period until today.
