• These early, highly simplified portraits from the 1950s attest to Andy Warhol’s remarkable graphic talent.
• Formerly in the collection of Frederik Hughes, Andy Warhol’s close advisor, publisher of Warhol’s magazine “Interview,” and later a founding member of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
• In 2019, the New York Academy of Art presented an exhibition of his drawings titled “Andy Warhol: By Hand”, helping to bring new attention to this group in his oeuvre.
