Leonard Freed (American, 1929-2006) Dr, Martin Luther King, Jr's Motorcade, Baltimore, Maryland, October 31, 1964 Digital pigment print, printed later 11-1/2 x 17-1/4 inches (29.2 x 43.8 cm) (image) 16 x 20 inches (sheet) Signed in ink, margin recto. Titled and dated in pencil, and with the photographer's Editions and Magnum Photos copyright studio labels affixed to mount verso. King, who had recently been announced as a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, arrived in Baltimore for a get-out-the-vote drive three days before the Nov. 3, 1964, presidential election. His motorcade drove between the Faith Baptist Church and the Masonic Temple on North Eutaw Street where he gave speeches that day.
