Lot Details
Ilse Bing (German/American, 1899-1998) Tout Paris dans une Boîte (All Paris in a Box), 1952 Gelatin silver print, printed later 9-7/8 x 12 inches (25.1 x 30.5 cm) (image) 11 x 14 inches (sheet) Signed in ink, titled and dated in pencil, verso. PROVENANCE: The artist; Abe Frajndlich, acquired from the above, 1993. This Ilse Bing image done on one of her return trips to Paris, her visual and spiritual hometown, was one of my favorites, as within it are a multitude of souvenir Eiffel Towers, as well as postcards and jewelry related to Paris landmarks. In the course of printing from an assortment of these 6 x 7 centimeter negatives–not her usual 35 millimeter Leica negatives, I printed some in this horizontal format and then also some in a vertical format, which will be seen in some subsequent sales. The artist; Abe Frajndlich, acquired from the above, 1993.
In overall excellent condition. Corner margins very slightly bumped. Not matted or framed.
