Bob Gruen (b. 1945) John Lennon, New York City, 1974, 2024 Digital pigment 20 x 16 inches (50.8 x 40.6 cm) Signed, titled and dated along lower edge This work is included in Art For Good, a dedicated session within the auction where a portion of the proceeds from each sale supports a worthy charity. One Hundred percent (100%) of the net proceeds from this piece will go to Tibet House. Bob Gruen is a legendary rock and roll photographer, best known for capturing intimate moments of icons like John Lennon, Bob Dylan, and Led Zeppelin. His iconic image of Lennon in a New York City t-shirt remains a cultural touchstone. Gruen has also documented emerging punk and new wave acts, including The Clash and the Ramones. His work has been exhibited in renowned venues worldwide, including the Brooklyn Museum and the Beit Hatfutsot Museum in Tel Aviv. Gruen's books include John Lennon: The New York Years and Rock Seen.
