Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes (2001) is a reimagining of the original 1968 science fiction classic, based on Pierre Boulle's 1963 novel La Planète des Singes. The film is renowned for its costume and character design, which brought Burton's singular imagination to the futuristic dystopia. Here we see the design of the now iconic gorilla soldier helmet. As worn by Michael Clarke Duncan's character Colonel Attar, these helmets would become a defining visual of the film and movie posters. HID12401132022 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
