A hornet with human features and devilish intentions menaces a blue-eyed brunette in this classic example by Harold McCauley. Created as the cover for the pulp magazine Other Worlds Science Stories and illustrating the story "Mr. Yellow-Jacket" by editor Ray Palmer, this is a tremendous example of the fantastic imagination for which McCauley is justifiably renowned. The present work appears as a color plate on page 9 of The Frank Collection: A Showcase of the World's Finest Fantastic Art by Jane Frank (Sterling Pub., 1999).
