Lot Details
Kobayashi Kiyochika (Japanese, 1847-1915) Collection of Pictures of the Noble Tokugawa Lineage (triptych), circa 1895 Woodblock print 14 x 9-1/4 inches (35.6 x 23.5 cm) (each sheet, ōban) Signed: Kiyochika Published by Daikokuya Property from the Nelkin Collection HID12401132022 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
Prints present well. The condition of the work is consistent with its age. Mild to moderate toning throughout the sheets; inked colors still seem largely vibrant. Moderate accretions throughout the sheets contributing to a deepening in tone primarily evident along edges of sheets. Moderate foxing/a few scattered marks primarily evident in background of sheets and on verso. Some vestiges of adhesive/minor skinning primarily evident along verso edges likely from previous adhesive to one another or mounting/hinging to secondary support. Unframed.
