Lot Details
Signed and inscribed in ink on label affixed to verso.
Bunny Yeager (American, 1929-2014) Pin-Up in Hibiscus Bikini, circa 1960s Digital pigment print, printed later 12-1/2 x 10 inches (31.8 x 25.4 cm) (image) 14 x 11 inches (sheet) Signed and inscribed in ink on label affixed to verso. From the collection of Grapefruit Moon Gallery Bunny Yeager's awareness of the bounty of her Florida environs and opportunities afforded through its abundance of beauty and sunshine are on full display in this 1960s era view of a blonde model in barely-there hibiscus bikini, designed by Yeager herself and celebrated by the photographer during the period of critical acclaim she received towards the end of her life. In her later years, she found respect that had overlooked her for much of her career, with celebrated exhibitions at galleries in Florida and beyond, and a museum exhibition at the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, PA. For these, Yeager reapproached her earlier work as works of fine art, creating a handful of museum quality exhibition prints such as the one seen here. Overall excellent condition with no visible defects. Sheet is loose, not framed.
