Bunny Yeager (American, 1929-2014) Striptease Dancer at a Swinging Party, 1960s Gelatin silver print, printed later 10-1/4 x 10-1/4 inches (26.0 x 26.0 cm) (image) 14 x 11 inches (sheet) Signed and editioned 5/10 in pencil, verso. From the collection of Grapefruit Moon Gallery Bunny Yeager worked closely with striptease dancers in Miami and beyond throughout her entire career. Here she celebrates one who is entertaining a room in a private party. The mostly faceless men, and legs of a sole woman in the left of frame show the close confines in which this dancer worked, while the stark shadows give the impression of her spotlit nonetheless. Toward the end of her life, Bunny Yeager found the critical acclaim that had overlooked her for much of her career, with celebrated exhibitions at galleries in Florida and beyond, and a museum exhibition at the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, PA.
