- Ritschl is one of the most important representatives of abstract painting in Germany. - He exhibited at documenta 1 in 1955 and at docuementa II in 1959, the same year he was awarded the Art Prize of the Künstlerbund exhibition - In 1955, he had his first major retrospective at the Museum Wiesbaden. - Works by the artist can be found in the Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin, the Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen in Munich and the Sprengel Museum in Hanover.

In good condition. Isolated small spots of unobtrusive craquelure, isolated, barely noticeable drycracks. Subtle superficial trace of rubbing in the lower left edge. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the help of an ultraviolet light and to the best of knowledge.
