Signed lower right on the plinth: C. DE HEEM. Dr. Fred G. Meijer datiert dieses Stillleben anhand einer Fotografie in die 1680er-Jahre und bestätigt die Charakteristik des Spätwerks von Cornelis de Heem, wofür wir ihm danken. Eine fast identische Version nach unserer Komposition befand sich einst in der Sammlung Clemm und wurde 1907 in Berlin bei Lepke versteigert.
