The prints from this edition were published in the portfolio “Amerikas Hommage à Picasso” (America's Homage to Picasso) by Propyläen-Verlag, Berlin, 1974. Printed at Atelier Matthieu Zurich (with dry stamp), based on an early casein work by Palermo. [JS].
- The Palermo myth: young, nonconformist, progressive. - After studying in Düsseldorf under Joseph Beuys, Palermo moved into a studio in New York in December 1973 and drew decisive inspiration from the vibrant American music and art scene. - Palermo died in 1977 while on vacation with his girlfriend in the Maldives. - Palermo's progressiveness had a formative influence on his fellow students Gerhard Richter and Imi Knoebel, as well as on subsequent generations of artists. - Blinky Palermo's editions can be found in important museum collections worldwide, including the Tate Modern in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
