Manuel Neri (1930-2021) Aurelia Roma, 1996 Bronze with unique patina 26 x 7-1/2 x 7-1/4 inches (66.0 x 19.1 x 18.4 cm) Ed. 2/4 Stamped: Manuel Neri © 1996 2/4 Don Rich Studios Foundry PROVENANCE: The artist; Private collection, St. Louis, Missouri, acquired from the above, 1996. In 1994 the Laumeier Sculpture Parks in St. Louis, Missouri, commissioned Manuel Neri to create a marble sculpture, Aurelia Roma, honoring the wife of a longstanding member of the park. Neri went on to produce an edition of four bronze maquette-sized statues based on the original life-sized marble. The present lot is from this 1996 bronze edition. Presents well. Small 1/4 inch abrasion with small loss to patina to underside of figure's chin. Dust to recesses.
