- Andy Warhol's “Campbell's Soup Cans” are the epitome of Pop Art. - Published by Factory Additions, the publishing house founded by Andy Warhol. - Andy Warhol was the first artist of the 20th century to legitimize screen printing as a form of fine art.
LITERATURE: Frayda Feldman, Jörg Schellmann, Claudia Defendi. Andy Warhol Prints. A catalogue raisonné 1962-1987, New York 2003, cat. no. II.44..
Private collection, South Germany
Good overall impression. The red part faded, a few isolated slight creases, the upper and lower edges of the sheet slightly wavy. With an irregularity in the red print left of the gold mark, probably caused in the studio. The lower left corner of the sheet has a small, expertly executed paper repair.
