Lined canvas. Frame abrasion at edges. Stretcher bar marks faintly visible near edges and vertically at center under raking light. Some yellowing to the varnish layer. Craquelure throughout, most apparent in the sky area. A small hole in the yellow robes just below Apollo's proper right hip. Some scattered small dots of discolored accretion and pinpoint losses, the latter apparently stabilized beneath the varnish layer. Mild surface dirt and dust. Not examined out of frame due to size. Under UV: varnish fluoresces green unevenly. Brushy retouching at edges. Some scattered small dots of more finely applied retouching in the background, some affecting the legs of the satyr.
