• Between 1964 and 1968, Wintersberger was a member of the legendary Berlin exhibition collective and artist gallery Großgörschen 35, which exhibited works by Markus Lüpertz, K. H. Hödicke, and Bernd Koberling, among others.
• With their new figurative art, Wintersberger and his fellow artists rebelled against the informal painting style that dominated the art scene at the time and had a decisive influence on West German art well into the 1980s.
• In 2015, Wintersberger’s work was featured in the large-scale exhibition “German Pop” at the Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt am Main.
