- The (anonymous) human being—often depicted in portraits—is an important and recurring motif in Schreiber's work. - Increased color volumes, complementary contrasts, and an open composition that dispenses with perspective are characteristic features. - Hugo Schreiber's works were regularly published in Herwarth Walden's magazine “Der Sturm” and presented in the gallery of the same name. - In 1926, he exhibited at the “International Exhibition of Modern Art” at the Brooklyn Museum, New York, alongside Wassily Kandinsky, Franz Marc, Pablo Picasso, and Marcel Duchamp.

Good overall impression. The sheet has five horizontal crease marks, and the paper is slightly worn in places. The outer edges of the image are slightly rubbed in places. The corners of the image are slightly bumped and each has a tiny pinhole. There is some minor color loss around the head.
