A native of Milford, Texas, Harry P. Carnohan studied with Frank Reaugh and Vivian Aunspaugh in Dallas and at the Art Institute of Chicago. From 1926 to 1930, he traveled in Europe before returning to Texas where he worked on and exhibited in the Texas Centennial Exposition.
