Mary Bonner (American, 1887-1935) The Seaside, 1927 Watercolor on paper 13-1/4 x 19-1/4 inches (33.7 x 48.9 cm) (sight) Signed, dated, and titled lower left: The Seaside Mary Bonner 1927 PROVENANCE: Private collection, Fredericksburg, Texas. This work on paper is a wonderful example of Mary Bonner's skill as a watercolorist. Born in Bastrop, Texas, her formal training began at 16 with Robert Onderdonk. Later, she went on to be the first female etcher to exhibit at the salons in Paris, where she won awards in 1925, 1926 and 1929.
