• From the collection of Swiss textile artist and Kirchner’s close friend Lise Gujer (1893-1967).
The work is documented in the Ernst Ludwig Kirchner Archive, Wichtrach/Bern.
LITERATURE: Bassenge, Berlin, 81st auction, May 24, 2003, lot 6257 (illu.).
Collection/Estate of Lise Gujer (1893-1967), Davos-Sertig (directly from the artist; handwritten note: “Drawing by EL Kirchner, Lise Gujer” on the reverse). Collection of Dr. Georg Friedrich Büchner, Berlin (1975). Private collection, Italy (acquired in 2003, Bassenge, Berlin)
An atmospheric drawing in good condition. The sheet is slightly browned and has some light discoloration along the edges. On the reverse, in the upper corners of the sheet, there are remains of a previous mounting, which show minimal imprints on the recto. In the upper right part of the image, there is a faint, diagonal crease. There are additional tiny, faint creases in the corners of the sheet and along the center of the upper edge.
