In characteristic style, Peter Beard exuberantly transforms an existing greeting card with a flurry of inscriptions and a small newspaper collage. The gelatin silver print of giraffe mother and baby, which is affixed to the front of the card, seems to have been taken not by Beard but rather by the Sapra Studio, Niarobi, in the 1940s or 1950s, and is, as Beard suggests, now 'a collector's item.' A portion of the proceeds from this Auction will be donated to Aprile's Memorial French Bulldogs Special Needs Support Services.
