Bunny Yeager (American, 1929-2014) Dondi Penn with Horse, 1959 Kodak Film negative 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches (6.3 x 6.3 cm) From the collection of Grapefruit Moon Gallery Bunny Yeager's spectacular photo shoot with Dondi Penn featuring the model topless on horseback in then-rural South Florida took on a second life when appropriated by artist Richard Prince as part of his exploration of "Spiritual America." The iconography of the cowgirl is on full display in this unique camera negative, an important one-of-a-kind artifact from Yeager's career. This original 2 ¼ format camera negative is accompanied by Bunny's own model notes, which she used to promote Dondi to men's magazines and help build the model's career and persona. Unique to this auction of Bunny Yeager material, copyright transfer paperwork for this lot can be requested directly from the consignor upon purchase.
